Uno

Objective

The objective of Uno is to be the first player to get rid of all the cards in your hand by matching the top card of the discard pile by color, number, or symbol.

Setup

1. Thoroughly shuffle the 108-card Uno deck.
2. Deal 7 cards to each player face down.
3. Place the remaining cards face down to form the draw pile.
4. Flip the top card of the draw pile to start the discard pile.
5. If the first card is a Wild or Wild Draw Four card:
   • Return it to the deck
   • Shuffle the deck again
   • Flip a new card to start the discard pile

Gameplay

Players take turns in a clockwise direction. On your turn, you must play one card from your hand that matches the top card of the discard pile.

Matching Rules

• Number Cards (0-9):
  • Must match either the number or color of the top card
• Action Cards:
  • Must match the color or symbol of the top card
• Wild Cards:
  • Can be played on any card
  • Player chooses the next color to be played
• Wild Draw Four Cards:
  • Can only be played if you have no other valid cards to play
  • Forces the next player to draw four cards and skip their turn
  • Can be challenged if the player is suspected of playing it illegally

Special Card Effects

• Skip Card: The next player loses their turn
• Reverse Card: Changes the direction of play (clockwise to counterclockwise or vice versa)
• Draw Two Card: Next player draws two cards and loses their turn

Drawing Cards

• If you cannot play a card, draw one card from the draw pile
• If the drawn card can be played, you may play it immediately
• If the drawn card cannot be played, your turn ends

Winning the Game

The first player to play all their cards wins the round. Points are scored based on the cards remaining in other players' hands.

• Number cards: Face value
• Action cards: 20 points
• Wild and Wild Draw Four cards: 50 points
